SoC Hardware Engineer (FAE-Oriented)

【Job Summary】
This position is a Field Application Engineer (FAE)–oriented hardware engineer role supporting the Nuvoton bridge-IC, which is ARM CPU–based SoC products.
Based in Taiwan, the engineer will primarily support customers in Taiwan and China by providing technical assistance for the bridge-IC based systems that include high-speed interfaces such as USB, DisplayPort, and MIPI, as well as image and audio processing functionality.
The role focuses on schematic and PCB layout reviews, design recommendations, and on-site debugging when issues occur, supporting customers throughout product development, evaluation, and mass production ramp-up.
As the bridge-IC products include embedded software, a basic level of software knowledge is required to perform hardware/software issue isolation.

【Key Responsibilities】
1.Customer-Facing FAE Activities (Hardware-Focused)
•Provide technical support to customers in Taiwan and China
•Support customer system designs using the bridge-IC products
•Participate in technical meetings with customers (on-site or online) for design consultation and issue resolution

2.Schematic and PCB Layout Review
•Review customer circuit schematics
Power supply design, clocking, reset, and peripheral interface connections
•Review PCB layouts
High-speed signal routing checks for USB, DisplayPort, MIPI, etc.
Provide recommendations from the viewpoints of signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), grounding, and noise reduction
•Propose design improvements and corrective actions based on hardware design guidelines

3.Issue Analysis and On-Site Debugging
•Analyze root causes of issues occurring in customer systems
•Perform validation and reproduction testing using evaluation boards and customer boards
•Conduct hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related equipment
•Perform hardware/software issue separation when necessary
Software-level checks such as log review and configuration confirmation

4.Internal Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
•Report customer issues and requests to internal design and development teams
•Organize workarounds, limitations, and recommended circuit implementations
•Create and update customer-facing hardware design guides, FAQs, and application notes
•Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support for customer engagements

Required Qualifications
1.Experience in circuit design or hardware technical support using SoCs or high-performance processors
2.Fundamental knowledge of digital circuits and power supply design
3.Practical experience in schematic and PCB layout review
4.Basic knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as USB, DisplayPort, and MIPI
5.Experience in hardware issue analysis and debugging
6.Basic knowledge of embedded software sufficient for HW/SW issue isolation
(e.g., checking logs and understanding configuration settings)
7.Residing in Taiwan or able to work in Taiwan

Preferred Qualifications
1.Experience as a semiconductor FAE or application engineer supporting customers
2.Experience with ARM-based SoC product design, evaluation, or support
3.Knowledge of image processing (ISP, camera interfaces) and audio processing (audio codecs)
4.Experience with SI/PI analysis and EMI/EMC countermeasures
5.Ability to communicate technically in Chinese (Mandarin / Traditional Chinese)
6.Experience supporting ODM/OEM customers in Taiwan or China
7.Experience in development or validation of AR/XR devices or similar products
